Rachel Auty, the founder of Harrogate Beer Week and one of the presenters of The Beer Show has won the Silver British Guild of Beer Writers Award for Best Beer Writer Regional Media. Great work and congratulations – the admin of the station are made up for you!

According to The Harrogate Advertiser, Rachel Auty was thrilled to receive the national accolade at at the British Guild of Beer Writers’ annual awards. The ceremony was held in Westminster and was attended by some of the biggest names in UK beer and brewing.

Rachel gained recognition through her incredible work with Harrogate craft brewery Roosters on their livestreams, her ground-breaking success with Women On Tap events in Harrogate, Harrogate Beer Week and her weekly Beer Show on Harrogate Community Radio.

Meanwhile, it was Pete Brown who was named the Beer Writer of the Year 2021, the fourth time he has won the award, following triumphs in 2016, 2012 and 2009. Good work, Pete. Rachel invited Pete Brown to be a part of Harrogate Beer Week – which was documented in The Beer Show, back when it was on earlier in the year.
