November 7th – Four On The Floor 67
Written by Andy Backhouse on November 7, 2020
As we all enter lockdown #2 I wanted to put together an hour of music that every listener, old and new, young or old would like something in there, and hopefully I have. There’s a bit of 70’s disco, something from the 80’s, classic 90’s and of course some nice shiny new stuff too, oh and even a couple of 60’s too.
So, what’s in the show? We start off with Aaron Courtney’s take on Turn me on, Kevin Lyttle’s 2003 hit, which Chris Brown sampled for Questions back in 2017.
The 70’s tracks are not actually from the era but definitely have that vibe. We’ve got Angus McDonald remix of De’Lacy’s classic Hideaway and Calvin Harris’s track How Deep is Your Love has a disco house feel to it, with Liva K mixing it up.
The 60’s are most definitely swinging at the 45 minute mark with Freejak & Push3r “teching” up Baracuda & The Soul Club doing an awesome rework of Ben E King’s classic Stand By Me.
The 80’s, we have a great remix by Maràez of INXS, I Need You Tonight, and finally the 90’s, there’s Gabrielle, Dreams and Notorious B.I.G., Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems, with John Andrews & Tone House remixes.
So that’s a little insight into the show, BUT there’s a whole shed load of others too, you’ll just have to listen for the rest of them.
