Exiled from his native Lancashire for falling in love, Paul has lived in Harrogate for nearly 20 years. Under the name The Aperitif Guy, he writes and presents about food, drinks, hospitality and entertaining, drawing on a lifetime’s love of gathering friends and feeding them. Paul says this is written into his DNA, as both his mother and grandmother have been notorious feeders! He is an experienced trainer and public speaker and has hosted a private dining club since 1992.
Aside from the pleasures of the table, Paul enjoys listening to a wide variety of music, from Renaissance vocal music, through folk, jazz and swing to 80s electro and acoustic pop. He loves poetry, speaks French and dances a mean Viennese waltz. His favourite cocktail is a Last Word.
