King Cooper shows
Theo ‘King’ Cooper’s love of sound system music goes way back. He grew up with jungle and hardcore in the 90s and started playing records and promoting parties at 15.
Since then he’s rattled bass bins all over Europe and the world. Everything from playing techno alongside Derrick May to jungle on a 40ft flaming dragon at Burning Man before Andy C.
Inspired by Iration Steppas and Yorkshire sound system culture he set up ‘Technicolor Bass’ label Senseless Records in Leeds in 2004 with a group of friends.
Across 50 releases their catalogue included Warrior Queen, Max Romeo, Foreign Beggars, Parly B, Zebra Katz, Badness and many more and is now archived in the British Library for its contribution to UK music. If you like the energy high and the frequencies low, you’ve found the right DJ.
